Universal Sexual Myths Among Teenagers

It is a time of grouping and fumbling, and not all of it is in the dark. Much of the cobwebbed confusion that plagues the adolescent years exists in those teenaged minds as they attempt to come to grips amidst their emerging sexuality. Because of the shroud of dark secrecy that has been flung over the subject, half truths about sex tumble, over self-delusion and jostles with antiquated falsehoods - adding to the turbulence of these troubled years.

Below, are the compendium of the confounding sexual myths that blight the teenage years and the 'whole truth' answers:

Myth #1: Masturbation Is Self-Abusive, A Dirty Word, It Makes You Week and Adversely Affects Sexual Enjoyment

No other form of sexual venture has been more frequently (or secretly) discussed among teenagers, more roundly condemned by their parents and more universally practiced by both generations.

Some teens, both boys, and girls attribute anything that goes wrong from acne to falling hair, to the fact that they masturbated, thus providing regular punishment for the enjoyment of a perfectly natural activity. What's worse, 'weakness' has also been connected with masturbation. Finally, the semen is thought to be a very precious fluid of which each man has only a limited supply, and therefore it’s loss through masturbation, it is feared, may cause them to lose their potency.

Many teenage girls, too, suppress the urge to masturbate because they fear it will hurt them, stop menstruation, retard breast growth, make them infertile, rupture the hymen or adversely affect their capacity for sexual enjoyment later in life.

Like boys, some girls also feel that the urge to masturbate is a sign that they are "abnormal" in some way. These disturbed feelings may manifest themselves in the form of psychosomatic symptoms like a headache, giddiness, shivering and breathlessness. Some girls even worry, that masturbating could make them pregnant.

However, the manual stimulation of the clitoris or by any other soft object like a towel does not cause damage. Nor will manual stimulation of the vagina rupture the hymen.

Finally, there is nothing abnormal about masturbation unless it interferes with normal daily activity or becomes an obsession, what is abnormal is its unnatural suppression.

Myth #2: Is It Abnormal To Have Sex Fantasies?

From adolescence on, fantasies become the order of the day or are kept a closely guarded secret is the fear of being met with disgust and contempt. In girls, they are at first usually romantic sex fantasies about dating idolized figures like film stars, pop singers, models, teachers, doctors, etc. Sometimes, they are more explicit or 'bold' involving situations such as stripping, violent sex and rape.

Among boys, the fantasies are more structured. They may feel mentally "size up," feel and enjoy the parts of a girl's body, and they often go the extent of fantasizing the whole sexual act.
Such "pastimes" involve the fantasizing teenagers with acquaintances or friends in sexual activities, which dreamer would find unthinkable in reality, and certainly embarrassing, even hurtful, to reveal. In a girl, any fantasies that involve her father or a father figure are nearly always severely suppressed.

It is natural for teenagers to fantasize about those in their immediate environment (family, school, college, and neighborhood) because of their limited exposure the outside world. In fact, to some extent, fantasizing is helpful is shaping a healthy sexuality provided the young boy or girl is not obsessed with them to the extent that they interfere with normal life. Sexual fantasies are no more dangerous than any other kind of day dreaming which also shows an upsurge in adolescence.

Myth #3: Genital Discharge Adversely Affects One's Health

From puberty on, most young men naturally have nocturnal emissions (wet dreams). This happens when the mind has been sexually stimulated during the day, or on the other hand, because of an accumulation of sperm that needs to be released. Often, it is a combination of both. This induces a secretion of the prostate gland, a secretion which serves as nourishment, a vehicle and a safety cover to the sperm. Many teenagers feel this discharge is abnormal and that it makes them weak and ill. This again, like the mourning of the loss of semen in masturbation, is not called for, since this emission is just a glandular secretion.

In women, the nocturnal emission is not as profuse. It is much less, of a more watery consistency and manifests itself as a slight wetness. Many girls feel embarrassed about it, and some even say they feel weak. It is a sign of a healthy sexuality.

Myth #4: The bigger the pennies/vagina, the greater the sexual satisfaction

Many boys and girls in their early teenage years get worried about the adequacy of their sexual organs. Many young girls, after their first painful, even disastrous sexua lexperience, spend miserable months or even years try to cope with the illusion that their vagina is 'too tight' or 'too small' to accommodate the penis. Most fears arise from ignorance about the genitals. As with the male penis, being sexually stimulated, the vagina also undergoes definite changes. The muscles of the vaginal opens, relax, secrete the vaginal fluid which serves as lubrication and in proportion to the sexual stimulation, the depth of the vaginal cavity increases. Worry (arising from fears about the size of the vagina) will not allow these changes to take place. The resulting nervousness and anxiety render the vaginal muscles rigid and impenetrable. Thus leads to painful intercourse, setting the stage for a vicious cycle.

Among boys, most worries concentrate on the length, shape and other dimensions of their penis, the more high sex drives and the greater the ability to achieve and maintain an erection. In fact, an abnormally large penis can cause women more sexual discomfort than pleasure. Also, penis which is small in the flaccid state increase in size for more than larger genitals during an erection. Besides, it is the upper third of the vagina that is most sensitive, and the upper two third that dilates to hold the penis firmly. The lower third of the vagina, the orgasmic platform', does not widen and so sexual satisfaction is unaffected if the penis does not reach there.

What's more, it's not the vagina that is the primary center for the woman's sexual sensitivity; it is the clitoris, located at the junction of labia.

Myth #5: The First Experience Is Always Painful

Many girls get the impression from books, friends, and relatives that the first sexual experience is extremely painful. The fact is that most first experiences are hasty and lack adequate foreplay. It inhibits sufficient vaginal lubrication and makes entry into the dry vagina painful. Besides, inadequate foreplay makes the girl less responsive and receptive. In an effort for the teenage boy to insert his masculinity, may use force, making it even more painful for the girl. The vagina only becomes ready to accept harder erection penis at a relatively advanced stage of sexual arousal, and this is some time after it gets lubricated. An understanding partner can help to minimize the pain to a great extent.

Easy Steps to Prevent Premature Ejaculation Naturally

There are many men who experience the feeling of unable to control the ejaculatory reflex and to climax before desired. This disorder called premature ejaculation is one of the most common disorders in males, regardless of age. Avoid it can be simple if it is constant and know the proper techniques for this, and the various agents that influence its production. Continue reading this article and discover how to stop premature ejaculation naturally.

1. The first thing that must be done is to identify the cause of premature ejaculation. Therefore, it is essential to understand why it occurs. There are many causes of premature ejaculation. You could be suffering from some disease such as diabetes or anxiety related problem. Finding the origin of the disorder will make it much easier to avoid it.

2. One of the most common reasons why men have trouble controlling their ejaculatory reflex is an inadequate masturbation. Although it seems an easy task, not all realize it correctly, triggering premature ejaculation during sex. Thus, one way to avoid this is masturbating properly. If you normally do it quickly, to quench their excitement as soon as possible, your body becomes used to produce quick intense orgasm; a fact that will be seen reflected when you have sex.

If this is your case, what you should do to prevent premature ejaculation is to take your time and try to control the masturbation so that orgasm occurs later. The best way to do it is to press with the thumb and index finger the part that is under the glans when you feel the need to ejaculate. When the feeling of ejaculation subsides, continue with masturbation. Do not forget to enjoy the moment and relax.

3. Your mood during sex will affect your performance. During sexual encounter, check if anything that worries you. If you have a picture of stress or anxiety for whatever reason or feel bored, most likely it will lead to premature ejaculation. To help prevent this, you should spend a few minutes a day to perform relaxation techniques to help you get away from all that concerns you during your sexual relationship and focus only on your own pleasure and partner.

4. In addition to controlling masturbation and performing relaxation techniques, there are other exercises to prevent premature ejaculation such as Kegel technique. To perform Kegel exercise, you need to stop the flow of urine for a few seconds and expel it in small quantities once relaxed. Check the internet to know the exact detailed process of Kegel exercise.

5. If you have a partner, dealing with the problem of sexual disorder is a thing of the two. So, if premature ejaculation you experienced is not sporadic, follow the Kegel exercise and the masturbation technique as mentioned earlier. Also, observe the sexual positions that you practice. Opt positions as spoon or jellyfish, characterized by not allowing the penis to penetrate through and reach orgasm later, thereby preventing premature ejaculation.

6. The food and exercise are also good allies to prevent premature ejaculation. It is advisable to follow a balanced diet and play sports actively. One of the most beneficial diets to control ejaculation is the Mediterranean, which demands the high intake of fruits and vegetables. These foods, especially fruits, are rich in carbohydrates, which help prevent premature ejaculation. Now, you should not eat them in excess, it could have negative consequences.

7. Performing the process of cleansing and detoxifying the body is very important to prevent the accumulation of toxins, which also affect the control of the ejaculatory reflex. In this regard, the juices of fruits and vegetables are very effective.

8. Where the premature ejaculation is a sporadic disorder, just identify the cause that led to the timely disorder and eliminate it. The problem occurs when it comes to something common. You need to know that there is a certain time to learn to control ejaculation, so you may take a while to do so and starting to notice the results. If after applying the above techniques for a certain period of time you still continue to suffer premature ejaculation, it's best to seek a professional help; perhaps the origin of disorder is more serious than you think and you must follow a specific treatment for sexual dysfunction.

Get Screened for Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Safe sex means that you care about your sexual partner’s and your health and well-being, you reduce risk of unwanted pregnancy, and you prevent infection when you have any sexual contact. It also means that you get screened for STDs whenever it is necessary.

Vaginal sex and anal sex are unsafe activities, since blood and sexual fluids can spread diseases. Hormonal contraception options and condoms can make these unsafe activities less risky. Many believe that oral sex is considered safe sex, however, it is a misbelief. If you have oral sex, you are supposed to use condoms (for fellatio) or Sheer Glyde dams or other barriers (for oral sex performed on women). Oral sex is “safer”, but unprotected oral sex can give you ugly surprises: gonorrhea, syphilis, and hepatitis B.

Sex without intercourse – mutual masturbation or online sex – is safe activity. It is safer than penetrative sex, however, you still can get herpes or human papilloma virus. You had better get vaccines against human papilloma virus and hepatitis B.

Get Screened

As a responsible person, you should reduce risk and get screened for STDs. Probably you want to act responsibly, however, you are unaware of the fact that you are infected. Some sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea, chlamydia or syphilis do not have obvious symptoms for several months. If you are infected with HIV(human immunodeficiency virus) and hepatitis B, you will not have any symptoms for several months, perhaps years.

Again, sexually transmitted infections may not have any symptoms, however, they can lead to diseases all the same. Get screened, since it is the only way to tell whether you are infected or not.
You should get a medical check on a regular basis, or, at least, when you sense that something is not all right with your health. If you have unprotected sex, you might face serious consequences, and it is not only HIV that you should think of. Chlamydia, human papilloma virus, pelvic inflammatory disease and trichomoniasis are sexually transmitted diseases. Half of the American population gets a sexually transmitted disease at least once in a lifetime. Buy Maxidus

Painful urination, discharge from your genitals, itching genitals, bleeding, pain in the lower body are tell-tale signs. You should get checked if you have had sex with a risky partner: someone whom you do not trust or who has had a disease just recently.

If you have had sexually transmitted diseases during the past few years, you should get your sexual health monitored and get tested regularly. You do not want any unpleasant consequences. If you have several sex partners, you are at an increased risk.

You must not be shy when it comes to your safety. Tell your partner that you do want to reduce risk and use protection. Always be very honest with your doctor! Listen to your health care provider’s advice. Have physical exams and tests for STDs at least once a year. These tests are not painful, they are somewhat unpleasant, but they are much better than the alternatives. You might have to provide urine sample, blood sample, or a swab of the affected area. Those who belong to the baby boomer generation - they were born between 1945 and 1965 – should get screened for hepatitis C, too.

Health Problems in Uncircumcised Men

Although being uncircumcised can bring many advantages there are few problems that can cause some problems in uncircumcised men.

Uncircumcised men or improperly circumcised men actually suffer from two known problems linked with the foreskin of the penis. The first one is phimosis. This is a really unpleasant situation when the foreskin can’t be placed back on the glans penis. This is happening because the foreskin has tightened (in some cases it is swollen) the area just under the glans penis and cannot be placed back. This situation can be very dangerous because not only the glans penis remains unprotected but it also affects the blood flow because the foreskin is usually tightened and disrupts the blood flow.

Phimosis usually occurs in younger boys and in most cases it is treated with minor surgical procedure. This procedure should be performed while the boy is still young because it is less unpleasant at that age. Long-term phimosis can cause painful masturbation and sexual intercourse as well as limited erection. Phimosis can be caused by many things but most often it’s caused by poor hygiene or previous damages of the foreskin.

The second problem that can appear in uncircumcised men is paraphimosis. Paraphimosis is a term used to describe a situation where the foreskin cannot remain on the glans penis for a longer period. This problem often happens in men who have improperly circumcised penis, frequent use of a catheter in the urethra or practicing some unconventional sexual techniques.

There are symptoms that can indicate that you or your child is having a problem with phimosis and these symptoms include: trouble with urination, blood in the urine, pain in the penis and pain during urination. The same symptoms can be noticed in paraphimosis but the pain is even greater and more intensive. You can also notice change of colors on the back of the glans penis. The reason behind this change of color is the weak blood flow in that area.

As we’ve said these two medical conditions can be solved with a surgery but there are few other things that you can do. Phimosis usually doesn’t require professional medical help but if it isn’t treated in the right way it can lead to paraphimosis. If you can’t find a way to get back your foreskin on the glans pens request medical help. Doctors usually have instruments that can expand the foreskin and get it back where it should be. Cold compress can be very helpful when it comes to paraphimosis because it will make th skin more resistant so the patient can forcefully place the foreskin on the glans penis. If all these things are not helpful the patient has to be prepared for a surgical intervention performed with local anesthesia.

There is no exact advice about how uncircumcised men should protect themselves from these conditions. However, keeping the intimate hygiene on a high level by using lukewarm water and pH neutral soap is definitely helpful.

The Importance of Safe Sex

A lot of people think that safe sex means using a condom during the sexual intercourse, but the truth is that this term is much broader.

When someone mentions safe sex or sex by using protection, the first thing that crosses our minds is sex where we use proper protection in order to avoid getting some sexually transmitted disease such as AIDS, Syphilis, Gonorrhea etc. In most cases this protection is usually mechanical, which means primarily using male or female condom that physically prevents contact between the mucosa and bodily fluids that are secreted during the sexual intercourse and which can ultimately lead to various infections and diseases. However, safe sex can also mean sexual intercourse that we don’t to result in unwanted pregnancy. On the other hand, the protection that we use in this case does not always protect us from sexually transmitted diseases. There are of course methods that can protect us from both situations (unwanted pregnancy and STDs) like condoms for example. Coituis interruptus (pull out method) is a method where the man pulls out the penis from the vagina right before he reaches orgasm and this method is of course not effective against sexually transmitted diseases.

One of the most dangerous STD today is HIV, the main cause of AIDS. If we want to protect ourselves from this incurable virus we should always use condom during the sexual intercourse, especially when it comes to vaginal sex. HIV is “transferred” to the other partner when the mucosa gets in contact with bodily fluids although this is not the only way to get this virus. HIV can also be transmitted via blood contact too, so avoiding rough sex that can lead to small bruises and wounds is always a good idea. The risk of infection is a little bit greater when it comes to anal sex. Anal tissue is very sensitive and it is prone to ruptures and bruises making it much easier for the virus to enter the body. This situation can be avoided by using condoms. People usually use lubricants when they have anal sex so it is important to remember to avoid lubricants based on oil because they can damage the condoms. There are many lubricants based on water that are perfectly safe. STDs can be transmitted by oral sex too, although the risk is lower it is recommended to use a condom when having oral sex too especially with partners that we don’t know that well.

Sex that involves penetration (vaginal or anal) is always risky. That’s why you can choose some safer types of sex where penetration can be avoided. The risk of getting a disease in some types of sex is minimal or even nonexistent. Masturbation, for example, is the safest type of sex at least when we are talking about satisfying ourselves. The risk is still present if we are practicing mutual masturbation. You can also practice phone or cyber sex where the sex is actually virtual and there is no risk of STDs.
